Alba Botanica NWA Fashion Week puts on a Spectacular Show!

Alba Botanica NWA Fashion Week hit the runway March 1st through the 4th.  It all started with a Gala to raise money for local designers followed by two nights of runways featuring local designers and boutiques.

Thursday night started of with grand gala with 40/29 anchors Yuna Lee and Allison Wise started the night off with introduction to CEO and Creative Director of the NWA Fashion Week Robin Atkinson.

Also speaking that night was local shoe designer Eric Jones of Like Father Like Son LLC and local Fashion Designer Dallas Musick. 





NWA Fashion Week Gala held at 21c in Bentonville,AR
The gala was finished off with Jason Maek and Zaena performing during live photo shoots with models for the guest.

All proceeds from all events go to the support of local designers.

Doors opened at 6pm with show starting at 7pm. 40/29 News Anchor Yuna Lee was the emcee for the evening. Local fashion designer's line up for the even went like this... Chloe Carter of Down Right Denim, Label Boutique, Aimz Design featuring special models from the Elizabeth Richardson Center (Elizabeth Richardson Center has been enhancing the lives of children and adults with special needs since 1963.)

Saturday night line up began with 40/29 Allison Wise jump starting the evening with an introduction to the night activities. The night line-ups went like this... Alberti&Co., Label Boutique, Ashley Little of Material Concepts, Elysian boutique, NA Martin, Chavon Shree.  During the Break Julie Marchant-Houle Vice President and General Manager, Personal Care The Hain Celestial Group from Alba Botanica spoke along with CEO and Creative Director of NWA Fashion Week Robin Atkinson. Then the show continued with Steamroller Blues, RC by Richard Cotto, Lola Boutique, The Independent Denim & Essentials and Fashion Designer Felix Bui Couture closed out the show.

The CW has found its 'Black Lightning"!

A familiar face to CW fans will be donning the Black Lightning super suit!  Cress William of Heart of Dixie will return to The CW to star in DC Comic's "Black Lightning"! 

Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce (Williams).  He made his choice to hang up his suit and secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hellbent on justice and a star student being recuited by a local gang, he'll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante Black Lightning.

NWA Fashion Week:Creative 360 kicks off with a Free panel discussion presented by Artinfusion on March 1st 7pm to 8pm at Crystal Bridges-Great Hall.

Featuring top makeup artists, designers and creatives from the Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week team.

Nina Dobrev returns to Vampire Diaries series finale!


Nina Dobrev confirmed that she would be returning for the series finale of The Vampire Diaries.  She announced it on her instagram account by posting a photo of the series finale script. You can catch the series finale of The Vampire Diaries on Friday March 10 at 7pm on The Arkansas CW!

George Chmiel finishes his run across America!


George Chmiel completed his journey across America yesterday at Ground Zero in New York. He was running for Beastmode for the Brave to bring awareness for the needs of veterans. 

Beastmode for the Brave was created by US Navy Seal veteran Chris Kyle (American Sniper) and US Navy Veteran Talon Smith (Stars Earn Stripes) to raise awareness and support for the needs of our veterans returning home from the battlefield.  Beastmode for the Brave is the community outreach program for Guardian For Heroes Foundation.  


 George started his run across America on September 11th in San Diego, California.  He has ran through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C. Maryland, Pennsylvania and finished in New York City. 



He ran 3,005.75 Miles which was an average of 32.32 miles a day. Total run time was 23 days, 1 hour, 24 minutes and 37 seconds.

It's time for the 7th annual 40/29 & The Arkansas CW Northwest Arkansas Women’s Living Expo. Taking place January 14-15, 2017 at the Holiday Inn Springdale & NWA Convention Center. The Convention Center is located at 1500 S 48th Street in Springdale and there is free parking.

This What Women Want Event will host regional and local companies with the very best in shopping, fashion, food, entertainment, cosmetics, jewelry, travel, financial planning and offer many enter to win contests with lots of free goodies.

Temperatures not keeping George Chmiel from his Beastmode run across America.

Even with freezing temperatures, George Chmiel continues the last part of his journey.  So far he has ran 2,655.71 Miles. George started his run across America on September 11th in San Diego, California.  He has ran through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee.  He is currently running through the state of Virginia nearing Washington D.C. and will finish in New York City.

"One of my favorite pics from this journey." Said Beastmode For The Brave runner George Chmiel, "To me it symbolizes how hard this team works each and every day."  

The team has been working hard organizing a finish line ceremony at Ground Zero. Plus, producing videos for media, arranging interviews and whole lot more. Including George running 50 miles in the cold even though he was sick.  

Every day this team faces new challenges and obstacles but the continues to find away around them and push forward to their end goal.  They are very proud of what they are doing supporting our vets everyday! #beastmodeforthebrave
