Danú:10x10 Arts Series

Just in time for St. Patrick's day, Danú hits the Walton Arts Center stage this Sunday at 4pm.  From fierce fiddle reels to pensive ballads, Danú's high energy performance are a musical journey to their native Ireland. With songs in both English and Gaelic, this will be a night to embrace the music of Ireland.

NWA Mercy Family YMCA Ride For A Child Event this Saturday!

This weekend is the Ride for a Child event at the NWA Mercy Family YMCA presented by Henkel.  Plus, brought to you by Church & Dwight Co., Inc. and L'il Critters. 

All event proceeds will go to the YMCA child scholarship fund to help with preschool, afterschool and youth programs.  Free children activities on site during the event including bike safety, bike ride and bike giveaways.  

Cost per individual is $50 and $200 per team (max of 5 members).  Get your friends and family to support your team!

Bring  your own bike and indoor trainer, or register early to use one of the NWA Y's new spin bikes.  Prizes for top team/individual fundraisers, furthest distance, and best-dressed.

No one is turned away from the Y due to an inability to pay- Over $50,000 annually is given out in financial assistance.

2016 Bentonville Film Festival

The 2nd annual Bentonville Film Festival is almost here!  The festival will be held May 3-8. 

Film submissions are open and the films that are accepted for the festival will be announced in March.

CW Spring 2016 Lineup Changes

The CW network has released the premiere date for it's last mid-season show.  Containment will premiere at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19th after The Flash, iZombie which is currently in that time slot will season finale on April 12th.

The CW has also set dates for the return of Reign and the premiere of the final season of Beauty & the Beast.

Reign will return Monday, April 25th at 7 p.m. Reign will take the place of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which finales on April 18th. The final season of  Beauty & the Beast will premiere on Thursday, June 2nd at 8 p.m.

CW Pilot Season Begins

The CW Network has ordered six pilots for 2016. Keep in mind that these are just pilot orders, none of these shows have been picked up yet.

So here is a list of the 6 pilots.

RIVERDALE

"Set in present day and based on the Archie Comic characters, Riverdale is a surprising and subversive take on Archie, Betty, Veronica and their friends, exploring the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade."

UNTITLED MARS PROJECT

"A team of explorers arrive on Mars to join the first human colony on the planet, only to discover that their predecessors have vanished.  Led by a woman whose husband is among the missing, the colonist are forced to change their mission from exploration and settlement to investigation and survival."

TRANSYLVANIA

"In 1880, a headstrong young woman in search of her missing father ventures from NYC to Transylvania where she teams up with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard Detective, and together they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history."

UNTITLED PARANORMAL PROJECT

"A young woman seeks help from a parapsychologist when she begins to experience paranormal phenomena."

FREQUENCY
"A female police detective in 2016 discovers she is able to speak via ham radio to her estranged father (also a detective) who died in 1996. They forge a new relationship while working together on an unresolved murder case, but unintended consequences of the 'butterfly effect' wreak havoc in the present day."

NO TOMORROW
"When a risk-averse, straight-arrow, female procurement manger at an Amazon-like distribution center falls in love with a freewheeling man who lives life to the fullest because he believes the apocalypse is imminent, to comedic and poignant results they embark on a quest together to fulfill their individual bucket lists."

Update on upcoming episode of Legends of Tomorrow

Stephen Amell, star of The CW's Arrow revealed on Faceboook that an iconic part of Oliver Queen's look will show up on episode six of the new hit series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. In a video he confirmed that he would be donning the iconic Green Arrow goatee. He also confirmed that Oliver will have one arm and that we will meet Connor Hawke.

This contrary to what Amell tweeted in July.

American pianist Simone Dinnerstein's deliberate and thoughtful approach to piano takes you on a journey of discovery, uncovering modern musical landscapes that renew your appreciation for classical music. In this performance, she will revisit the work that brought her international recognition and critical acclaim – her 2007 Telarc recording Bach: Goldberg Variations.

Simone Dinnerstein at Leverett Elementary school in Fayetteville

Simone Dinnerstein brought her Bachpacking initiative to two Fayetteville elementary schools on Wednesday. Bachpacking brings classical music from classroom to classroom in public schools and presents interactive performances and encourages musical discussion among students.

After the workshop at Leverett Elementary, Dinnerstein surprised the school by donating a Privia PX-160 keyboard to the school.
